Poem From a Friend

I feel your hard fought battle; I see your gentle grace,
I wonder how you keep on going, with a smile on your face.

I feel the warm, strong love that keeps surrounding you,
All wanting to lift a bit, of what you are going through.

I see how many you’ve helped, all along your day to day,
With laughter and kindness; the faith-filled words you say.

Your testimony is strong and shines so bright,
We can feel the deep warmth of its fiery light.

We see you lifted up, embraced by arms of love,
Of your family and friends, some from up above.

It’s easy to imagine our Savior watching over you,
With earthly and heavenly angels, the number quite a few.

I know the battle's hard, you’ve created your own paths to take,
And shared them with us all, the joy, grit and heartbreak,

You’re fighting the ‘enemy’ all around with weapons found in nature,
Researching new techniques always out to find and conquer.

Sharing it all, opening up a window into the battle,
Keeping the faith, crying the tears, yet not being rattled.

With your family, right by your side, protecting with their shields,
Strong yet soft, grounding you until the day you are healed.

We don’t know when that day will come, but we pray with all our might.
We know that through your shared pathway, you fill us all with light.
